Instructors - Donna Rickard
Donna Rickard’s musical training began on piano at age five. Two years later she was accepted as a harp student of the late Nannette Bryson Black. She continued studying with her for 10 years. She also received private instruction from Marjorie Noble, Mildred Dilling and Robert Maxwell.
During her undergraduate years, she played her harp on Pianists of the Future. She was a member of Glendale Symphonettes and performed with the Glendale Symphony under the direction of Scipiono Guidi. She advanced her studies at University of Southern California and California State University Long Beach
Donna performed for many years in the southern California area as a freelance musician. She was one of the founders of the OC Harp Troupe about 5 years ago and serves as their secretary. Currently she is also serving as secretary of the newly formed Orange County Chapter of the American Harp Society.
Her main passion is sharing her love for the harp and her knowledge with others – young and old. She has been giving private lessons for over 20 years and is currently accepting students for private instruction on both pedal and lever harp in her studio in Lake Forest.
